PRESIDENT’S message
Harvey J. Pyser
I hope that you are enjoying your summer and taking advantage of the ability to be outdoors and on vacation. Your temple has been a beehive of activity over the summer with lots of work and planning proceeding for the upcoming year. Rabbi Adler has been very busy meeting with congregation members and township officials as well as settling in to his role as our spiritual leader.
Planning and preparations are currently underway for the high Holy Days. We will be setting up chairs for the Holy Days on Sunday, September 9 at 7:00pm and taking the chairs away on Sunday, September 23 at 7:00pm. We need as many hands involved as we can get. Can you spare an hour or two? If you can, just show up with your sense of humor and we will put you to work. The work is easy and I can tell you from personal experience it can really be fun.
Baby sitting services will be available for the High Holy Days. Please send your notice of the need for this service to the Temple office immediately so appropriate plans can be made.
The opening of the Wolfson Religious School under the leadership of our new Director, Ms. Janice Rozenwasser will occur on September 9, 2007. On that date, at 11:00am we will also be hosting a brunch for everyone to meet and welcome Rabbi Adler and his family. Why not plan on picking up your student and stopping by for a few minutes? No student, no problem. Stop in anyway!
My administration is working on a variety of plans and programs that will be announced over the next few months in order to increase activity in our shul. We look forward to everyone joining us at our social events to have some fun. I will address these activities in future columns in this bulletin. Watch for the announcements!
We are looking for volunteers to assist in the preparation and production of this Bulletin so that we can give Randi Mitchell some relief from these tasks. Randi has been handling the majority of these tasks for a long time while doing an exceptional job at it. Now she needs a break. Contact Randi (auntran@aol.com) or the temple office (973-627-4500) if you can spare a few hours each month.
We also need a few volunteers who can devote some time to assist in general office tasks in the temple office. If you any time to spare please let the office staff know. All help will be welcomed.
As we approach the new year of 5768 we should all be reflecting on the past and setting our plans for the future. Your temple needs you if we are to become the vibrant congregation that many of you have expressed a desire for. As I have said before, no Board of Trustees or group of officers can do this alone. If everyone helps just a little we all succeed. Just think about that and then act accordingly. I look forward to seeing everyone here and involved.
Let me take his opportunity to wish each of you a sweet new year. Shana Tova!
